Last week we had a blast in North Carolina with family! Grandma came back with us for some Washington, DC fun! We took Grandma to one of our favorite spots: Great Falls National Park. This gorgeous park on the Potomac River boasts various trails that lead you back in time with breathtaking views of the Potomac River and The Falls.

The National Park Service website describes it best:

At Great Falls, the Potomac River builds up speed and force as it falls over a series of steep, jagged rocks and flows through the narrow Mather Gorge. The Patowmack Canal offers a glimpse into the early history of this country.  Great Falls Park has many opportunities to explore history and nature, all in a beautiful 800-acre park only 15 miles from the Nation’s Capital.

Kate completed the requirements for her Junior Ranger badge!

As a family we love exploring outdoors! We are quite fortunate that we are surrounded by so much natural beauty. We often take mini adventures to explore local trails, State Parks, and National Parks.

More summer fun ahead!
